Our steps to Ireland

Post: # 193997Post MuddyWitch »

A few people have been kind enough to ask how we're getting on, so I thought an up-date might be in order.

We bought a second hand bathroom from fleebay; the bath & hand-basin are in great condition, but the vendor was fitting a vanity basin & walk-in one for his elderly relitive. The loo (from a different vendor) was virtually un-used, but the bloke wanted a push-button one. Our plumber fitted it last week, so I now confidently predict that the avacado that we lived with for ten years will be next year's 'must have'

We are still planting the garden, as it'll probably be the Summer before we're ready to go on the market, so we should have one last harvest here. If we go earlier it'll give the new people a start.

The first of our (3) credit cards is now completely cleared and the other two are reducing rapidly thanks to the 'interest free' periods

I'll update as things go on.

Yep, the new fashion colour for 2011 is indeed Avocado... or at least it will be now!!
Hmmm.. I wonder when the yellow tulip kitchen will be back, I liked my old yellow tulip kitchen!

It's nice to see things change though Davey - whther you're planning to move or not, shiny & new & painted - especially at this time of year is always good  I'm thinking of starting on that bloody awful kitchen of mine, but every time I get the urge, I walk outside the door & go & find something a bit more constructive to do!

Well done for the credit card as well - I got one of those prepay mastercard things... it's bloomin' fantastic! I can now do all the online/offline shopping I want - as long as I put the funds onto the card first

Hope to see you both over here soon - you have a LOT more patience than me, that's for sure!!
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden

Thank-you all for your encouragement.

Now I'm letting you know what we're up to it'll be an extra spur to getting off my non-too-tiny backside!

Today I Spring Cleaned (sorry for swearing folks! ) so that I can concentrate on the garden for a while. The veg plot is coming on a treat, but the first 60ft from the house is in a bit of a state after two soggy Summers & 8 big greyhound feet have pounded the lawn. I did reseed but it's been too dry for the seeds to germinate, ironically, so returfing is in order, methinks.

Thanks FC, give Ireland my love and say we'll be there just as soon as we possibly can.

Which bit are you going to? (My Irish geography has come on in huge leaps lately!)

Well that balances things up as we are leaving this evening for a week in Devon, it stops the island tilting over.
Keep up the work MW, it's well worth it or at least I think so and I'm sure after a week in the crowded smelly UK, that conviction will be reinforced.
See you all next weekend.
