Post: # 182091Post Minnesota »

I can't wait til spring, it's 2 deg F right now and isn't suppose
to get above freezing (32 deg F) for weeks !!!

I may have to visit the Conservatory or a place like it to maintain my sanity

Yeah, Minnesota, I feel so sorry for you bottled up in the freezing weather with only that Applejack to keep you company

You'll survive, mate! Just look on it in another way - you have more time to enjoy the fruits of the summer

Having spent most of my life on the Canadian prairies, your photos look very familiar. I can sympathize.

On the other hand, I can't help gloating (especially to my brother, who lives in Saskatchewan) about our lovely weather here on the coast. Here are some photos I took between Christmas and New Year's...

What wonderful photos, all I've got is drizzle and grey skies :(

Tell me about it. I am in the process of turning grass in my new garden into veg beds. I thought the frost would make it easier to turn sods of earth over (to kill the grass) but I can't even get a spade in the earth! And to have all that time off too, and nothing productive to do with it!

Even the pigs can't find the grass here in Scotland...

That's Doris, one of our adult sows, by the way and she's in one of the less deep areas of snow. In the deep spots, it's up to my armpits.

Lived here 20 years, and though we have had snow 4 times in that time it has aways lasted no more than 1 day and has caused no road problems, this time many folk in our area are cut off, and we went with the neighbors on the tractors to check the folk that we could not raise on the telephone to make sure their were Ok.
It is still snowing here so will wait and see what the morning brings, if it continues it will be a problem as this a very rural area,12 miles from the main town and of course the locals are not prepared for this type of weather, but we all look out for each and we have very close knit community, so we will have no problems.
I can't do great things, so I do little things with love.
