It is the Canadair CT-114 Tutor, used by the Canadian Air Force as its trainer from 1966-2000. It is still flown by the Snowbirds aerobatic team. The photo was taken when I was a student pilot. I went on to fly the Tutor as an instructor for another four years.

Nowadays, the Air Force contracts civilian flying instructors. That would have been the ideal position for me. In my day, you had to be a soldier to fly Air Force jets, and I decided I didn't like being a soldier, though I loved the flying, so I got out.

I'm sixth from left, sandwiched between a bloke crouching and another standing.

Given what appears to be the collective male Isher penchant for shagginess, can I suggest that should be "Hairforce"?

I found one!

The proud expression was because, despite the fact that I'd been a Sister (Charge Nurse) for years, I'd never had a uniform that had a belt. My parents bought me the silver belt buckle and I felt like a proper nurse

My brother scanned it a few days ago and posted it on Facebook,
when I was 13 or 14, his girlfriend at the time worked for a Magazine as a photographer, they needed a model, a young huskie lad to portray a famous musician (in his childhood) who had recently died, that they were writting an article for. I rode the Bus for the first time, "alone", into the Big City (Minneapolis) 60 miles away for this photoshoot. the Magazine never used the photo.

oh, yeah. and my dyed hair.

and this is me age 18, again with dyed hair ;) yes, I was a goth for many years. until i had an adverse reaction to hairdye and a load of my hair fell out and a load more broke off. nasty.
