Me neither, are you talking C rather than F, Keith? Either way minus 40 would be pretty cold!

I've experienced -15C which is better than -10C with wind. Ow.

It's warmed up here to -1C now and snow is forecast - which I would love (don't get much of it here) but we need to go and do some big shopping tomorrow. Trouble is I forget that our drive is on a steep slope so snow is really a bad thing to have here. The last place I lived in France had snowploughs everywhere including pavement ones, and everyone switched to winter tyres and had chains if need be - we didn't, cos the roads were kept clear! - but here in rural Brittany they wouldn't know a snowplough if it hit them in the face!

Our lakes are starting to freeze over now. The snow is drifiting across roads and covering all the trees.

But temperature is only around -1c to -5c.

So it's mild enough to be outside and enjoy the snow!!

Hopefully it will stick around until about March....

well the sun was out fore a bit but its started snowing again here ,its been on and off most opf the morning

At this very moment, if I look out of the front window, it's really sunny and cheerful. From the rear window, it's snowing. If I feel cold, I can just change which end of the room I'm in, I suppose. Weird weather!!!

It's a brilliant sunny day again, not a cloud in sight, but a bit colder than yesterday.
At last I can get some serious work done, tiring myself out in the process,
And lose a little weight in preparation for next week.

It's at times like this that I'm glad to be living in London, somehow the weather hardly affects us (and I'm a builder). As a kid I never had a raincoat or an overcoat and even now I don't have a waterproof jacket.

It's chilly and dull but nothing like that. I got a phone call from Wick this morning and they said it was snowing heavily over that side. Hope I can get to Inverness OK tomorrow morning - I'm picking upgal and mother from the airport. Oh well, if I can't get through they'll just have to fly back again.

Our temperatures are in Celsius. Only the Yanks use Fahrenheit nowadays.

Luckily it seldom goes below -10 here on the coast. While there is something primally Canadian about surviving -40 degree winters and pretending to enjoy them, I've been there, done that, and bought the T-shirt. Now, I'd much rather have winter weather that doesn't need shovelling.

Our most severe weather systems come from Hawaii and bring us wind, tons of rain, and warmish temperatures. We were up to 9 C yesterday.

I can't work out if it's looking down into a puddle or up at the sky and what the shooting stars are.

The UK is still bilingual when it comes to temps, oh and measurements and weights. It takes the British about 30 years to learn anything new! Well apart from my mother and my mother in law who will never ever learn; I'm surprised they are not still converting money into the old money before decimalisation in the early 70s.
