The worst traffic in usually on a motorway, so I don't think it's lack of motorways is the problem. I think it's because you can't go through Cornwall to go anywhere else, it's a dead end. And everone who lives in the rest of the west country seems to go to Cornwall on holiday!

I must admit i was very impressed with the Eden Project. Just went there the other day. I really loved it. Well worth visiting. Inspirational even. Bit busy as a Good Friday but nethertheless really really worthwhile.
