Hospitalised Dog

Post: # 175282Post growingthings »

Just thought that I would vent my speen to you guys as my beloved Collie is currently overnighting in a veterinarian hospital after undergoing surgery for a luxated (dislocated) front leg, she's had to be pinned and have an artificial ligment made to hold everything together :( and I have to admit that I am missing her like mad :( :( (mind you my Spaniel doesn't seem to be that bothered that her chums having a night away but maybe thats because she's got the bed to herself  )

I'll be collecting her tomorrow sometime and then she is on strict rest and a strict aftercare regime, as these injuries can reoccur and I have been told that she risks losing her leg if it can't be corrected...It's funny how strongly you feel about your pets isn't it? :dontknow:

Anyway, I have no real idea why I ended up posting this but hubby is in bed and I miss my dog!!

Oh your poor doggy! That sounds a very painful condition and Collies are so active as well!

It is a fact that pets become part of the family and it is natural to worry about them and miss them when they are ill and have to be away from you. It shows what a loving owner you are.

I hope she makes a swift recovery. All the best for tomorrow when you collect her. :hugish:

Hope she is OK. Was it the result of an accident?

It's true when your pets are not there like they normally are they are sorely missed just like any member of the family! Hope she recovers quickly, poor thing. :hugish:

Aww :hugish: I hope your poorly puppy is up and running about very soon
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

Hugs to you and your Collie :hugish:

I have sworn that we always take our two with us from now on 'cos I missed them so much it took the edge off our last holiday. You are perfectly normal in my book, it's folks that don't miss their pets that are odd.

It's not strange to miss your friend when they are away. I hope that there's a swift recovery and that she can get back to her old self as soon as possible. :hugish:

Hope your doggie gets well soon. It sounds like you are doing everything you can for her.
Pets do become a part of the family and I applaud you for caring enough to go through the expense and potential long term aftercare programme that is required. I have known a few people who will just put the animal down and buy a new pet rather than bother to do the right thing so

WELL DONE!! :hugish:

As always it is lovely to hear from people who care as much about the same things as I do :grouphug:

Thats absolutely true, It has made me feel rather better reading all the posts, and to not feel like such a fool for missing Poppit such a lot

She jumped for a ball landed wrong and that was it! :shaking: She must have mis-footed when she landed, the joint popped out and she ruptured the ligaments on the outside of the shoulder, I'm amazed at how well she managing, although I have promised to upcycle an old sweater for her as I think that the bald patch might make her a bit chilly this time of year!

Cheers guys you really brightened me when I was feeling sorry for myself :hugish: !

I looked at the photo and that strikes me as a typical "I'm going to lie here and look like I feel sorry for myself so mum will run around after me all day pampering me like crazy" look! Clever dog!

Aw! :( I'm a sucker for the "sad puppy" face--fall for it everytime. But I am really glad Poppit is home and doing well. :flower:

Glad she's on the mend, I'd miss my dog if she were away too.
