I haven't even tried that! but I had no idea that one could do such clever things with a pumpkin! Cleverest thing I do with them is make them into pie!
I second the pie making. I admire peoples creativity with the carving but nothing comes close to the smell of pumpkin pie!

right this is my attempt at something other than my usual zigzig mouth & triangle eyes. Not quite the masterpiece I had hoped for, but an improvement on last year.

I'll be doing mine tomorrow, but here's a couple I did 5 years ago using a butternut squash and a watermelon.

Same ones, but in the dark, obviously

Dora the Explorer (yes I'm a mum to a 4yo!) A haunted house (my offering) and Daisy's scary Jack-o-lantern. Sorry they're a bit blurry photography not my strong point- or I could blame it on the ancient camera

Can someone enlighten me on why I can't get the pics to come up on the post like others? Sorry bit of a dullard when it comes to this type of thing!

I made toad in the hole (see the witchy connection!) followed by pumpkin cake for tea - made from the inners of pumpkin. I'll carve up the lantern part tomorrow (apart from any charred bits) for more pumpking cuisine!

Don't you just love living in the fantastic society we have these days. :(
We've got some charming kids around here! Parents must be so proud. My little lady was very upset when she saw it.

It's the size of the photos - if you reduce them to 700 pixels then they will come up on the page.

ok, well mine pales in comparison, but I was told "he looks stupid, but friendly" by a friend lol!! funny, cos that was the aim I was going for.

all offcuts of flesh were skinned and chopped and we had a pumpkin soup started to our samhain meal.

due to my last year's disaster of actually managing to set fire to the pumpkin (too small a gourd, too big a candle) this year I used battery operated fake night lights from the pound shop. yes, i know they're made in china but i would prefer not to have last year's drama thanks lol.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

Aww that's so sad :( :hugish: People can be so mean
Let us be lovely
And let us be kind
Let us be silly and free
It won't make us famous
It won't make us rich
But damn it how happy we'll be!

I don't understand that - I thought it was blown up on purpose because there is some kind of device in it. :dontknow: They did one on the One Show only it was great because all it blew out were the carved bits which you hadn't noticed up until that point.
