We've made a decision

Post: # 169094Post StripyPixieSocks »

After someone mentioned 4OD on one of the recent threads we spent 3 days watching Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall (yes I'm aware nobody likes him) and his River Cottage programs and we made a decision.

As we are moving to Cornwall in around 5 weeks time *crosses fingers* we are changing our lifestyle drastically... well... in small steps!

Moving to Cornwall was my No1 thing on my Bucket List (my list of things to do before kicking the bucket lol) and having hopefully achieved it before I'm 143 years old I have replaced the No1 spot with working towards owning my own small holding a-la a small scale River Cottage.

The only meat we will be buying from now on with be the odd piece of Free Range Organic stuff and even things like my beloved winter lip balms will be made with natural ingredients.

Both myself and OH are really excited to have this opportunity to make changes to our lives and hope we can share the things we find out with you all :)

Sounds great SPS, and the perfect opportunity.

We made loads of changes when we moved up here. It really is a whole new life.

Best of luck, and above all enjoy it.

I have to say he hasn't inspired us to move to Cornwall, I've wanted to live there since I was 14 he just galvanized our long lip-serviced ideas :D

We're away tomorrow up to Cheshire to visit my parents for a week then down to Somerset to stay with the in-laws and to Cornwall for a day of viewing cottages... by October 2nd we will know where we are moving to with any luck although with all the travelling we might just be too tired to celebrate lol

I like HFW, he's passionate and enthusiastic about what he does and Woodlouse eating aside it's passion that inspires people and enthusiasm that instils confidence in them to have a go themselves and that's no bad thing ;)

Good luck with the viewings, can't wait to see what they, especially the chosen one, looks like!

This always confuses me, he seems to be in that Chard, Bridport, Beaminster, Axminster square, which means he can claim allegiance to Devon Dorset & Somerset through one or other of his exploits.

No I won't use a smiley because I've decided to turn into Boboff, as he's turned all nice all of a sudden. Grumble grumble.

Oooh, good luck, i've got some friends who have just moved to Cornwall from York, and another friend who desperately wants to move there!

I love HFW too, but he does sell some expensive things!

Do you want a good lip balm recipe? You can make soaps too!
