The last job I had, fifteen years ago, was as an area co-ordinator for Greenpeace UK. Basically I visited all the local groups in my two counties regularly & told them:(please read in Old Mr. Grace's voice) 'You're All Doing Very Well!'

Since then I've home educated my eldest from age 10 & my youngest for all of her primary years, grown 90% of our food, knitted or sewn most of our clothes and household linen, kept this place clean (well, just North of filthy!) using mostly elbow grease, volunteered in a local charity shop a couple of hours a day, (till it closed :( ) and raised chunks of money for a local greyhound rescue centre. So I'm 'just a housewife' then

Work is a swear word - I'm retired. Looking back at the CV, I'd say my career has been Odd Job - whatever came to hand except for a very long stint in gardening.

Hi All,
So intersting to peek into other people's lives!

I'm a herbalist, practice one day a week but rent for the room eats half the money. Also very unpredictable, so I work in the shop too - great fun telling people what herbs to use but also flogging 'natural beauty' stuff. Luckily an ethical company, but still wage slavery. I do that 2-3 days per week. That supports the whole family, but only with the help of this very generous government matching my wages. Wonder how long that will last?

OH currently a stay-at-home dad, which he loves, and spends lots of time on the computer, some of which he claims makes money. We are curently in the process of negociating him back into the world of work in a more direct way! )He's had 3 tyears, both kids now at school)

I love my life, but it is only possible due to a lucky house buy when prices were very cheap round here.

Having said all that I'm about to take on looking after a horse!Hoorah!!
