New Zealand flat worms

Post: # 166770Post Annpan »

Anyone heard of these, or have any experiece of them?

My Neighbour has found some in his garden and is really worried about them (not that there is much we can do) apparently they eat earth worms :( I haven't seen any in my garden as yet, but I haven't done any digging in a while.

I've heard of them, because there was such a huge hoo-ha about them years ago. Since then nobody has mentioned them so I thought it was another of those things like bird/swine/sars/flu that was media hype and soon goes away.

Nasty little beggars!

Try this link: http://www.dgsgardening.btinternet.co.uk/flatworm.htm

Seems quite well researched.

Well, I still haven't seen one but... I just dug up a few square metres of potato patch and found no earth worms what so ever, not even one.... which worries me :( but... not much I can do...

Apparently ground beetles eat them so that's good news... but I need my earth worms :(
