Graye, I love the highchair too. Can I put my order in please?
I too had a Mother who had a love affair with dettol etc, and I have asthma, excema, and allergic to quite a few things. Much to my Mothers horror my girls kiss the cat, sit in the dogs bed, eat stuff in the garden. They are both really heathy, even though the little one was 11 weeks early and weighed 1lb 10oz.
Stay at home Mummy to Orin 8, Trixie 6 and Temogen 4 . Also three Chickens Dottie, Poppy and Dr Mumbo. Three cats called Flossie and Pickle and Lexi.
I ofetnfeel like the only sane person in a sea of rampant health visitor-ness.
my daughter is aloowed to get dirty. she slept in a second hand cot (with, sorry, a second hand mattress; well within safety guides though as it was less than 10 years old). that cot then served another child before being chopped up and the wood reused. at my mum's house she either slept in a baby bath with padding, a drawer and when she outgrew those two options she had my brother's travel cot (13 years old when soph was using it).
I made a lot of her food. WE have had two guineapigs for the last year, and before that we often visited family an friends with pets.
I REFUSE to let dettol near my house as i don't think it's safe. paul123456, you have vindicated my last statement, thankyou!
I would be happy to have inlaws/parents who went to so much effort on my behalf Graye, and that high chair is something to be proud of.
I have just come back from a morning in the park. my darling daughter is purple all over her hands and face from eating blackberries straight off the bushes. she also has muddy, lichen covered knees from climbing the trees in the park and I am so proud of her.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very
ve-he-he-he-heryyyyyyy soooooooooooon!!!!
I would be interested to know how many of you wore gardening gloves when you were pregnant in case you came into contact with cat poo in the soil (OK fair enough) but also how many of you avoided TOUCHING cats when you were pregnant, as a German friend of mine did in case she caught toxiwhatjamajig from my cat?
Just had to confirm that Ayvah survived her three weeks here. And just to prove it, here she is in the highchair, enjoying watching us eat dinner and desperate to get her hands on that rusk!
I love it that other people aren't too concerned about dirt. We did a lot of research and decided not to sterilise when my son eventually had bottles - washing in hot water is just as good, and lots of people actually become so reliant on sterilising that they stop washing properly, leaving milk residue in the bottles, making them even less hygenic!
My sister used to steal the dog's bone and chew it, not sure we'll go quite that far...
