I found it enjoyable as well. The verbal pictures that he creates of the allotments and his adventures there are so true to life and often quite funny. He is also quite skilled at frugal gardening.

Is there anyone in the area of Twyford Allotments who could give an update about how Robin and his Allotmentment mate, Steve, are getting on with their plot? I believe the book is written about the garden year in 2002 and 2003. So they could have quite a bit more progress on the allotment now.

I recall seeing somewhere that their allotment neighbor in the book, Ted, received an award for all the help he has given other people on the allotments.
