Snow again....

Post: # 147892Post theabsinthefairy »

Well it's the end of March and even though I have been telling everyone that we live in a mountinous area and to expect snow, no-one seemed to believe me - have been warning new ex-pats to the area not to start planting as it is too early, but no-one took us seriously, and this morning it has been snowing steadily for about an hour.

Photos were taken just as it started at about 9.30 this morning. Hard to believe that yesterday we finished putting up the poly greenhouse in our t-shirts because it was so sunny.

If that was here, I'd be crying right now!
Although I know that last year on Mum's day it was snowing - but then it was a lot earlier in March, so hopefully we've seen the last of the white stuff - but it's a timely reminder to not be quite so impatient in the garden!!

Hope it passes soon Monika - but keep warm today :hugish:
The more people I meet, the more I like my garden

So far it has just be an really good excuse to light the Rayburn early and sit and knit and cruise the site instead of doing any work.

We had snow yesterday here - and there is more to come, apparently. Brrrr.

That's one of the reasons I moved away from the mountains, the cold weather and snow and the long wait for spring to arrive which was then a very short season before summer started in May/June.

Now I have incredibly long springs waiting for 'summer' to arrive which suits me perfectly!

I traveled back up from Manchester yesterday through driving rain, high cross winds, glorious sunshine, hail, snow, and driving rain and winds - in that order!

At one point I had my own rainbow - which seemed to come from my front bumper. It traveled with me for well over a mile - I don't know if the lorry in front that was continuously spraying me was causing it, but it was lovely.

Snow today here in Switzerland too! I was hoping it was really spring already, but it seems not...
