My cat, Gypsy

Post: # 141640Post Penny Lane »

Gypsy came from a farm
Four and a half years ago.
Her sister and self spayed
During a winter of snow.

Gypsy changed over some weeks
She looks pregnant,
I said,
Tongue in cheek.

The vet said it's tumors,
Her nine lives are spent
But my best girl can't die
I did lament.

Today the snow came
Making everything white
Gypsy was crying with pain
And she gave me a fright

For her 'tumors' WERE kittens!
She gave birth in no time,
To two beautiful babies
And they're all doing fine!

Yes, my 'spayed' cat had kittens today. :confused2:

Thanks everyone!

Another kitten was born at 11.20 last night! I was kept awake by little mewing and suckling noises

The vet found abnormalities when he spayed Gypsy, he removed 'something' that was covered in fur and had a couple of claws. My guess is that he got so excited about it, he forgot to complete the job in hand. Her records clearly state "two ovaries & one uterus removed"!

I'm just relieved she's not dying. My mother's having two of the kittens & we're keeping one. Shouldn't really as we have too many as it is but as I always say "one more won't make any difference!"

Awww that's lovely in an unexpected the Vet is a pillock kind of way!

I'd definitely register with a new Vet though but then I'm very wary of Vets anyway!

We're going to make him do a proper 'job' without charge once the kittens are old enough for her to be re-spayed then move on to another vet practise.

We have always diagnosed our animals ailments before seeing the vet, and right every time with the vet confirming and prescribing medication.
This time we were right and he was wrong. The senior vet! 9+ years of training!
He said it didn't feel like a pregnancy when I called back to let them know. Nice guy, but if we could tell she was pregnant surely he should of. And we knew that if she was it wouldn't be long before she'd be birthing them!

Ah well.

I'm tempted to ask if he'll spay the girl kitten for free too...!
