Ooh poor you. Now I don't know if this will help but a dentist showed me some great exercises last week which have helped solve a jaw problem which has been giving me terrible tooth and headache problems for years. With your elbow on the table put one hand around your lower your jaw, applying slight pressure as you push it out. Do this around 10 or 15 times a few times a day. It might be worth a try until you get your operation.

Sarh Jane - I just caught up with this thread. I am convinced that you have a chronis sinus problem - as i have suffered in this way for over 20 years! Including the numbness, toothache and crawly sensations.
My doctor's a homeopathic - and one of the best things to alleviate these symptoms was facial acupuncture - which was very effective. Also - for temporary relief, alternate hot (as hot as is tolerable) flannels to the face and ice cold ones. This can cause a 'cracking'sensation in your nose - but it is not painful.
I hope your operation is a great success when you have it!
Take care - no more ice skating! :santa:

Hi all, I just thought that I would update you on the ongoing saga!!! My gp ended up sending me to A&E a week last Friday as she and a consultant she rang at the hospital decided they didnt want to leave things over the weekend. The numbness was no better, if not a little worse. So off I dashed. I ended up being in there for 6 hours, being assessed by the burse then looked at by a doctor then sent for facial xrays then for blood tests, then through to see another doctor. At the end of an interesting Friday evening people watching in the waiting room and being prodded and poked, the doctor decided to arrange an urgent ENT referal. I got home about 10pm and the phone was ringing, it was the doctor from A&E, he had arranged an appointment for me but with it being xmas the first time I could be seen was 30th Dec (today). So I am just getting ready to go and see the specialist. Lets hope that he has some answers for me. :flower:

Any news, Sarah?

It's not nice being poorly over christmas - well, it's not nice being poorly at any time, either, but you know what I mean.

Any answers today?
I hope it gets sorted soon - sometimes the smallest thing can get you so down - so this must be really awful.
hugs for you.... :hugish:

Well, I went to the hospital, had a camera shoved down my nose and throat and they found a "rather large" abscess just below my sinuses. The problems with my teeth have caused the abscess and the infection has spread into my sinuses and the right side of my face. The inflammation and infection are what has affected my facial nerves and are whats putting pressure on my eye and in my head.

Short term a double dose of antibiotics to bring down the inflammation and reduce the infection. He is also arranging a scan...... but me being blonde and still in shock after the camera jobby, I didnt ask why he was sending me for a scan.

Long term, I need to get into hospital and have the op on my jaw and teeth. But they wont do that whilst I am unwell! A bit of a catch 22 I am afraid.

Unfortunately, apart from feeling under the weather this christmas, I havent been able to tuck into all those nice goodies I really enjoy, especially nuts and things like that. I cant/shouldnt have alcohol with these antibiotics either.

Still, on a positive note, I have enjoyed the nice cheeses and pate and stuff. Shame my sense of smell and taste has nearly gone. I have a good imagination though! :flower:

Hi honey.

I'm so glad they've sussed out the problem - maybe they can lean on the dental lot. ope you get sorted soon.

As a complete aside - the pickles are fantastic - you really have to post some of the recipes, particularly the sweetcorn one- yummy.

xx

Hi Maggie. I had thought that myself! But OH isnt here until tomorrow, so might wait until tomorrow night. I have gone this long, one more day isnt going to make much difference, is it?

I am really glad that you like the chutneys and pickles. I think I have posted a few recipes on here, but if not I will email them to you.

It was lovely to see you the other week, my first "ish " meet up. It was a shame you had to go.....
thankyou for the treatment too! :hugish:

On that note Dave and Andy, I would like to thankyou for introducing me to a new friend! :flower:
