well, it made me laugh

the bit that sticks in my mind is "..instead of doing a variety of things you will only have to do one!"
and here I am learning has many skills as I can
Before I read the last sentence I thought Oh Oh Christmas in lebanon for Julie... but then you have already grasped that, lol. Good luck from a SIL who was told on the eve of his wedding.." You know Alan when Amanda marries you tomorrow she is marrying beneath herself". nearly 22 years later the same sentiment is still there.JulieSherris wrote:Quite chilling, John.
I was on the phone to the 88yr old MIL yesterday, who is coming to us for christmas - she cannot for the life of her understand WHY we have bought our house & are wanting to create a personal smallholding. She thinks it's a shame after having a house with all mod cons, that we would choose such a 'primitive' lifestyle.
I was trying to explain that if more people would 'do' a little more for themselves, then certainly it would help to leave the environment a little more friendly for our grandchildren & their grandchildren, etc.
Her reply? Quote:
"But why would you bother, it's not as though it affects us, is it?"
I am deeply disappointed & to be quite honest, I'm ashamed of her selfishness. It's going to be an interesting time when she arrives next week, I think.
Julie
