maybee because your fingers are cold or your brain is numb... from the cold perhaps.... Maybe even that as you are wearing fingerless gloves does that mean you have no fingers ?? You could try using your toes.....

I've never tried. You could try arm/wristwarmers?

Maybe tis the bulk between your fingers?

I was thinking the same as Brij!

It's funny how small things such as a new keyboard and fingerless gloves render us totally incapable of typing like we do normally, it's strange what fine motor skills get whacked out at and what we take for granted!

I know just how you feel Fee - I have my left index finger splinted at the moment (accident with a reciprocating saw - probably should have had it stitched - but have just kept it very straight instead!) and it's amazing what a difference it's made. It's really made me stop and think about how much I take it for granted that all my bits work!

p'raps you need a wee willy winky candle holder on your desk. Then you can warm your fingers by the candle ala Bob Cratchett.

I don't know - cos I can't type proper anyhoo

possibubble the extra thickness though - wrist warmers with a thumb loop may be yer best bet? I find i read (sit on hands) then wri..ty... tap keys - then return paws to under bum / armpits or in pockets for warmth while i reads more :drunken:

Here's a tutorial for it:

I'm sure all the parts can be sourced really, really cheaply using Freecycle for the pots etc maybe?

Fee I tried and couldn't either!

What I do when my hands get cold at my computer is heat up one of those wheat bags in the microwave and then have it on my lap and keep putting my hands on it. However my poor mouse hand always gets freezing and I am still bemoaning the fact that no-one has yet invented the heated mouse!

When it is really cold I put a hot water bottle on my lap. I'm always wrapped up in a blanky in here too.

It might be because your fingers are still cold with fingerless gloves on. (There's not really a way round that...) Or it could be the bulk between your fingers because of the gloves. I wear fingerless mittens, which helps with the second one at least.

Surely, a fingerless mitten is a sleeve!
it's either one or the other, or neither of the two.
