Feeling sorry for myself (grump warning)

Post: # 132103Post Thomzo »

So I'm sat here on the sofa all wrapped up with another bad cold. I just rang my Mum to say that if this cold doesn't get any better by Saturday I won't be driving an hour and a quarter to her house to take her my Christmas tree punch so that she can make her Christmas cards. The main reason being that I don't want to pass the cold on to her as she's had a run of bad health this year.

Her response "Oh! So I won't get the punch then?"

So much for maternal love and concern.

Grump over.

Zoe

Thanks, Guys.
I wasn't particularly feeling sorry for myself until I rang my mum. The hours I have spent sympathising with her aches and pains, you think she's spare me two minutes of sympathy.

Cheers

Zoe, have a hug from me... (((((( Zoe )))))

I still remember being rushed to hospital with septicemia about 12 yrs ago- drips in situ & feeling really poorly - mum came to visit & spent an hour telling me all about her migraine & how she shouldn't be out....

Oh... and nearly 19 yrs ago - going into labour with my youngest on valentine's day in the morning.... called mum & got "will you be long, I have a hair appointment at 11...." :angryfire:

Zoe - you have my sympathies x

I thought it was just my mum that was like that, it dosent matter what disaster has hit us helth or other she always manages to turn the conversation round to her or says she is in a rush and cant talk, even though like you i am expected to spend hours listening to her.

I thought i was alone with this problem, i feel quite normal now thanks.

And i hope you are feeling much better.

May be we should get our mums together so they can compair notes on who is worse off
