Wedding Bliss -HELP!!!

My daughter was to be married next July - lovely...time to save up. get slim, get organised....
Fiancee is now joining the forces and cannot be scheduled for that time- SOOOO postponed?
Nope - too sensible - the wedding is now at the end of NOVEMBER!
I've made and sent the invitations - yesterday, organised flowers, got a new venue,dresses for the girls......................but I've got nothing to wear and didn't have time to save up much.

With out beeig to personal can i ask what size you are, how old and what colour were you thinking of and pant suit or dress?

Do you have anything like a dress agency nearby? Outfits (including matching shoes etc) people have paid outrageous amounts for turn up so often there, and they are quite often one-off wedding outfits. You may find a real bargain. Or even a charity shop which has a more "exclusive" section. For instance there is one in Scarborough where the upstairs is more like a rather posh boutique with everything with good labels all beautifully arranged. And still at charity shop prices!

For my first wedding I had the full works, beautiful white dress, tail suits, bridesmaids, cars, photographers, country house reception, etc, etc. Second time around we had a register office quickie, a small buffet in our local pub courtesy of the landlady and I wore a really nice plain red shift dress I picked up in a charity shop. My son took a few snaps in the pub later. I have to say I liked the second one better and that is no reflection on my relationship with my ex as we get on fine.

You could buy a dress and take it back after the wedding (not that I have been known to do that of course )

I think probably borrowing is your best bet, ask around... if you local freecycle group has a chat group (cafe group - I thing Ayrshire does) you could ask on there - you can't ask on the main site to borrow, but you could still ask if someone had a suitable dress the would be willing to part with.

I had a winter wedding, don't forget a pashmina (posh scarf) and a nice pair of gloves... and a thermal vest might be an idea too.

Have you had a look on Ebay for outfits?? I've been to a few weddings recently and have had some cracking stuff from said site. It's deffo worth a shot.. especially some of the vintage stuff.. it's fab and nobody will have the same outfit!.

OK - size 16 ( real 16 not River Island 16)
Never wear dresses
I like dark blue.
Don't want to buy something to wear once - and not going for a 'Mother of the Bride' look
I found a nice top on Ebay - sort of smart yet floaty - might go with linen trousers - is that too informal?

I have a raw silk trouser suit - hardly ever worn, as I didn't really ever have the size it's in... It's natural colour, but would combine great with a dark blue top (that's my favourite colour, too!). Not quite sure if it's 16 (was bought in Germany), but if you like I could measure it out?

Keep looking on ebay - I've had some tremendous bargains on there - and even bought my wedding dress for £80, a vintage 1940s turquoise ballgown, it was fabulous and I felt like a princess. And I'm not in any way a 'girly girl' either
