I've just turned a crap crop and terrible weather into tasty goodness.
green tomato chutney (ta MAdam Cholet for the recipe link ;) ).
most of the ingredients were home grown and/or local. the onion came from my aunt (again, MAdam Cholet), the apples from barleylands farmshop in crays hill, tomatoes from my garden, garlic and chillis from my garden... the raisins, ginger, vinegar and sugar were the only non-local/home grown ingredients. all the jars are recycled and I'm feeling very hippy-smug lol!

It's such a good feeling though isn't it?! Sounds delicious too!

Re: *smug*
Mum and I used to make it every year. I don't eat it myself, so I haven't made any lately, but it does help fill the pantry.
I may make some next year, depending on the tomato crop.
Love and Hugs to you and Sophie
