Hi all
We've got 4 old apple trees in the garden (unknown variety) and would live to make apple juice or cider. Does anybody know how? What kind of equipement would we need?
Thanks
Ian

There's a link on the front page of the site that might help

To make apple juice, various methods are possible if you don't have a professional outfit. We used to make juice a home with a steam juicer; my brother used a small electric juicer and then sterilised the juice in the bottles (not suitable for really large quantities - you'd be at it for ages). Or you could see if you can get a fruit press second hand.

Makes good cider that recipe does, but do cut back on the amount of sugar. Most people will say that you need a cider press to make good cider, which is sort of true I used a potato masher though and it was much harder work.
