ahhhh just in time

Post: # 122813Post mrsflibble »

took a walk to our local shop for some milk, tin of tomatoes etc and have just arrived home as a downpour happened. I'm now sat with my marks and sparks lemon parfait cheesecake, soph has chocolate milk and Barney the fricking dinosaur (AAAARGH!) but we're both happy to have not got utterly wet again.
urgh.
oh how I love my tea, tea in the afternoon. I can't do without it, and I think I'll have another cup very

LOL we got caught in a downpour a couple of years ago just as we were about to go out. We were on the way to charge up our Oyster cards fo the bus and the heavens opened it was exactly halfway between the shop and home so we carried on to the shop... we looked like drowned rats when we got there and had to go all the way back home to change before going out again

Tis a bit wet all over at the moment, hope no one is flooded out!

We had it big time! Chris' cousin came to visit and ended up flooding the engine of his car. There was a hoooooge puddle (up to my knees - I know because it went over my wellies!) in the road just around a blind corner - a stream had burst its banks and he hit it and the water filled his engine. I ended up standing in the road for an hour, in the pouring rain, turning traffic away because it was even worse further on. It's amazing how stroppy people can be when you tell them its dangerous to go any further and give then directions for another route! The police finally came out and closed the road - it only took them an hour after I made the call! On the up side I did get to splash in lots of puddles!

Goodness, and I thought I got wet on the walk home last night, nothing compared to you Milims!

Although it did get very windy and I worried I might blow away (I'm very petite and light!), and it kept blowing all the puddles upwards, then a car drove past me and completely drenched me. Wohoo. My jeans are still drying out now.

Still though, I definitely got off lightly!

I started cycling to work at the beginning of February. I can honestly say I have got far wetter cycling in August than I did between February and the end of July!

September doesn't look too promising.

Anyone fancy investing in a water pipeline to the Far East?

Zoe

I've decide to wait & see how it goes before taking my dog out, it's absolutely pouring down here. Wouldn't care normally but i've got a 4 month old with a cold!

Miliams - that was very good of you to redirect the traffic for an hour! Not many would!

Thank you Penny - I just didn't want anyone else to befall the same fate - and besides which - I got to jump in the puddles!
