she loves it, but her only complaint is it has no pockets. It has no pockets for a reason, I'm sick of frisking her whenever we go out.

just to show the lining colour, and her oh so cute name label for preschool
and finally a hanger shot

This coat is a fricking miracle. Firstly I couldn't find the pattern I wanted (this exact one to be precise) and posted on a craftster about wanting this or similar and being upset that I couldn't find it. One of my forum buddies on there pm'd me and told me she had this pattern from 1970, would I like it?! hell yes! it turns out she'd been keeping it in a box and had no idea why she'd still got it, her kids are all grown and this was *her* coat when she was tiny. her mother had traced the pattern so it was completely uncut too. We swapped addresses, I sent a package of kid's sweets to Texas and she sent me the pattern.
Add to that my good fortune of my auntie giving me shedloads of free fabric; all of it really good stuff too, along with my sewing machine and bob's yer uncle.
I dutifully traced the pattern too, but I did it onto cheap sheeting with a t-shirt marker so it will last forever.
it's a labour of love honestly hahaha!!!
