You've been on the wine? Blimey, I've had a baby born on me and can't remember a thing about it!

rofl :laughing5:

i had joked a few months before that he would arrive on a bluemoon, and i was right....he did! the blue moon had its way with other women,my independent midwife had 3 ladies give birth on 3 consecutive days (one was me) and i also know 2 other babies born the day before and the day after. the moon truly governs women
There is no other organ like the uterus. If men had such an organ they would brag about it.

Yep, another pagan here too. Solitary....I guess if I must label I'm probably more of a kitchen-witch than anything else. Or a 'pottering-witch', yes, that would suit me best, I think.
Interestingly, the rather scummy council house I live in has always had really lovely vibes for me, despite not being in a very nice area....I discovered last week that the old lady that used to live here, Annie, was a 'wise-woman'. I think she is looking out for us; I certainly know my son started talking about 'Annie' when he was really small ('Who are you playing with sweetheart?' 'Annie!!!!'). I could really do with her help with my garden, though.....
I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

 maybe Annie didn't tend the garden? Ask her if she has a friend that did the gardening and maybe they can guide you?

Oh no, quite the opposite....Annie grew all sorts of weird and wonderful things, including a lot of rose varieties that I'm desperately trying to train as they've gone to briar. She grew things for medicines, poultices etc. Perhaps she doesn't like the sort of things I'm trying to do, must try and ask her....but she does prefer talking to Ellis, I think!

Marshlander said:Towards A True Balance by John P. Rogers

Be mindful! Husband the earth. Protect her from greed and violence. Build humbly, plant trees, grow flowers and clothe her with dignity. Respect all her creatures. Honour her natural laws and the universe which cradles her. Above all, heartily worship the Source of All That Is.

This world needs secret heroes! Be brave, speak the truth, heal the sick, make peace. Be strong, serve patiently, love generously, live simply. Enjoy fellowship, eat and drink modestly, walk often, cycle and recycle. Be thrifty, prefer cashflow to possession, give good measure. Let your work be your prayer.

Put on the whole armour of light! Unearth the beauty in everything. Inhale the Spirit of Goodness. Kindle kindness, especially toward yourself, embracing the sweet silence of your own soul. Fear nothing. Accept what you are and - while you have breath - give thanks.
I think this pretty much sums up how I try to live. I'd class myself as an earth-centred pagan with leanings towards Wicca although I don't generally practice rituals or magick. I don't have an affinity with any deities but revere the sun and the moon and their impact on us all.

I only started to read up on paganism last year but everything that I'd previously thought and lived by seemed to fall into place under this heading. I guess paganism isn't something you become, it's a name for a sentiment that you already lived by.

I particularly love it because no-one tried to convert me to it and you are allowed to follow your own path without any constraints.

ooh hunny you must ask her or get Ellis too ... Our house spirit really got the grumps when we took one of the original doors off in our home to get it stripped of all the yukky paint ... she even knocked over a glass of wine  but once I had explained she was fine ... after that we always told her what we were doing before we did it... :flower:

Does anyone fancy having a chat about our 'house spirit' to get it to stop the flippin' dry rot that is everywhere in this house :(

We are good people but I am convinced that this house is unhappy.

Canadian Hedgewitch here. I find the peace of the garden, and the night sky wonderful and inspiring.

I am a lone practitioner, though I have many like-minded friends. I find being alone helps my powers of concentration.

I'm a rational side of Hedgewitch

I run one of the 2 LGBT Pagan support groups in the country called The Rainbow Moot which meets at the Wellington Hotel in Birmingham on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month from 8pm Pagan time (sorry for the shameless plug & bigging myself up, I was pretty much cajoled into runing it after I helped us get organised into the Birmingham Pride March 4 years ago & have remained in this position since but have only run it single handedly for a few months)
