Grumpy

Post: # 116388Post the.fee.fairy »

I've been a bit grumpy this week.

Not only have i had that stupid marketing company to deal with, but i've got a tooth/earache - i'm not sure which one it is.

I have a phobia of dentists that is stopping me going at the moment...last year i had to have my upper widom teeth removed surgically because they'd broken and i'd ignored going to the dentist. I didn't go til they got infected...

I'm trying to pluck up the bourage to go to the dentist again now. I reckon i probably need a filling - it certainly looks that way when i look at the tooth that i think is hurting, but the pain seems to be higher in my jaw - suggesting ear infection.

Might try going to the docs first to get them to check for ear infection...docs don't hurt as much as dentists...

So if i'm not around that much, you'll all know i'm shaking in a corner somewhere with the yellow pages open at D...

me too...its not really hurty at the moment, just a bit hurty. I need to get it looked at before it gets super hurty!!

I'm going to try the holistic dentist down the road - they don't use the injectable anaesthetic. That stuff doesn't work on me!!

Damn I wish I had a holistic dentist! It sounds to me like toothache that's affecting the nerves and causing a related earache. You could try something tiger balm-y on the parts of the face and head that are hurty, behind the ear and along the jawline etc. Just to help a little, til you get to the dentist's of course. Hope you get it sorted quickly fee.

I've made the appointment...

Not with the holistic place, but with a place that i went to years ago. Its for the 20th August.

Luckily, the toothache is not constant, it has fits and starts so its do-able at the moment!

Have you tried oil of cloves on the tooth? A very old remedy - but it does numb the pain a bit. (It also tastes quite strong, so gives a kind of diversion to the irritation!)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I get a toothache occasionally - I think it's just old age. :(

That worked for Dustin Hoffman in Marathon Man.

BEWARE! do not over-do oil of cloves. It is incredibly bad for the gums if used over a prolonged period or in large amounts. It can also kill the nerves (*yay*?!) one to two drops per day wont killl all the pain, it should dull it though; but also wont leave you open to wounds on the gums through over use.

I too have a fear of dentists fee.I can totally relate where you're coming from.
Glad the tooth's stopped hurting for now but it is better to get it sorted out before it starts again.

I know! That's why i've plucked up the courage to go. I don't want to have the tooth yanked out surgically like the wisdom teeth were. I'm hoping that the dentist will restore my faith...

I have a brilliant dentist - I really enjoy going there! As a child I had a horror of a man who put me off dentists for many years...
