Photo Competition! VOTING CLOSES SUNDAY

Post: # 105889Post the.fee.fairy »

We, the Moderators would like to announce the first Ish Photo Competition.

We'd like to make it a monthly event, but we'll see how it goes.

The rules are:

The Photo is to be taken this week/before the end of the month.
One photo per entrant.
If the photo is of a person, then they must give their permission for it to be on the site. It is a public forum, and we do have to be careful about people being offended by their picture being in public view.

At the moment, there are no physical prizes. The winner gets to choose the theme for the next one. Maybe in the future if it is successful enough, we'll see what we can do between us!

The subject is:

THE WEATHER

Its a British pastime to talk about the weather. Here at the moment, it is thundery and lightning, so show us pictures of the weather in your area. They can be arty, abstract, obvious, anything you like!

Post your pics here and someone will set up a poll at the weekend (it won't be me...i'll be in the hopefully gloriously sunny wilds of souther England at Sunrise Celebration).

Good Luck!!

You need an image hosting account first Clara.
Use photobucket or similar. Then you need to upload the photo onto there from your computer and it will automatically generate the code.
The code you want in this instance is img code.

Just copy and paste it onto here.

If you need any more help just give me a shout.

Do you use photobucket Clara?

Its free. You upload the picture from your computer (it has an easy upload thing - you click it, choose the picture from the list and then press upload), then under the picture, there are a number of links. The very bottom one is the one you want.

Start a reply in the normal way and paste the link from photobucket in where you want the picture and tada! Pic in.

Don't know about any other online photo hosts. I only use photobucket.

Thanks! I should explain that this is a lenticular cloud (as seen from my front door), they are created when cold air hits the mountains at right angles.....to me they just portend high winds. We get lots, I have a photo of a huge one that my OH took at nearly 3500m, the storm it brought with it nearly killed him.....but that is another story.

Wow, Clara...that's beautiful!
I took my dog to play frisbee. She was useless. I think I need a flatter dog.

Here you are - wholly less arty than the others, I admit...but here is my OH refusing to be beaten inside by a very recent thunderstorm on the one and only day we risked a barbeque...note the groundsheet on the washing line which was the shelter for sprog and I...(sprog gave up after an hour of getting wet and decided to watch cBeebies instead...)....

No comments about the ridiculous amount of plastic in our garden please..everything in that garden is from friends, family or Freecycle!!!!!)
