No, it doesn't. The croft and family come first, but I still manage to fit in full-time blogging with at least one post a day, six or seven days a week. Often there are a couple of posts a day. It takes self-discipline and organisation, plus good use of limited time, but it's perfectly possible. (And we're not talking three or four sentence posts, perhaps with a photo, but often detailed posts with several photos.)
Someone I know wrote a dozen crime novels while holding down a full-time job and having a family. He wrote between 4am and 6am every morning without fail. Blogging can be done in the same way.

I can find 15 mins to write a post, and try to do so most days. Other people watch tv or gossip etc. I also read an awful lot of book. I do this instead of sleeping...

I am made of different stuff. My project for instance is not a day to day activity but a trend within a longer time frame. Karen is like-minded in that Zero Waste is important. She can sustain it daily but my ideas come in bursts so a daily blog is not the right type of vehicle for me. I deal in statistics and tables of indeterminate time spans rather than prose driven dialogue.

Depending on the scope of your blog, you can also keep a store of short posts and ideas for when life is busy.
My blog is mainly to let friends and family know that I am alive and well and what kind of things I am thinking about but I do like to post something every day. To help that, I have fallen into a few routines (eg. I also take a weekly self portrait so have got into the habit of discussing that each Saturday, so the time I spent working on that reaps further benefits).
Also, I will sometimes start a short series - for example, a friend of mine is interested in some book recommendations; rather than spend a long time writing a single post, I am picking a book at a time and providing a short paragraph or so. I might write two or three at once and then I can use them to tide me through busy days.
