Hibiscus Syriacus
I've had a Hibiscus in a pot for a couple of years now and it hasn't flowered. It was in the sales so not in the best condition, I'm sure. It has a hard stem in the middle that's been cut down and there are leafy stems growing from the base. Any advice or suggestions?

Re: Redcurrant
I have a mature redcurrant bush. About a couple of feet away there's a root coming up out of the soil. If this is from the redcurrant, should I bury the root or can I cut it off?

From the RHS website: "Split stems, sometimes exuding sticky sap: This is sometimes caused by late frosts but is often an indication of erratic growth due to seasonal conditions. Cool or dry periods followed by moist or mild weather means the hard outer growth splits when the new, rapid growth ...

Re: New ice cream maker
I didn't look into it before I bought one years ago. I wanted to make healthier ice-cream for the little ones, with less sugar and fat, etc., only to find that it needed a certain amount of the very ingredients I wanted to reduce, to produce the right consistency as the blade turned and scraped the ...
