I needed more bran so bought a big bag from Org. gardening catalogue. Anyway, it is kept out of direct light and relatively cool, and has only been opened a few times, but resealed with air squished out. Some of the bran has started to go green. Is this normal? Is the bran still useable?

Did you get it wet? I've had some bokashi bran for ages (bought it over a year ago and it - no sign of greenness. But I don't close it too much. I wonder if keeping it airtight and a bit of moisture is encouraging something to grow.
Does it still smell good? At the end of the day you're making compost - there must be stranger coloured things lurking in the compost heap don't you think.

If you do decide to keep using it I'd keep a nose to the smell - that seems to be key to ensuring a good batch.
