Wheel-less Wheelbarrow - suggestions?!

I've been appealing for a wheelbarrow on Realcycle (our local equivalent of Freecycle) for some time and have just been offered one without a wheel. As it is only 10 mins from our house I've agreed to it & will get OH to collect tonight.
Any suggestions on how/where to get a wheel from? I was thinking either a very small child's bike or a pram? Will this even work?!? Am I completely mad taking on a wheel-less wheelbarrow?! (in my defence, the woman said it was going to landfill unless I took it - I fold under that kind of emotional blackmail!)
Many TIA

Have a look first how big the wheel has to be - and then start worrying about where to get it from! Otherwise you might end up with one that doesn't fit...
You could always ask if somebody has a wheel without the barrow left in the garage. I bet there's someone out there.

Thanks Ina. We're collecting the barrow once Tom gets home from work so we'll know more then. I was just wondering if it was a crazy idea in the first place!

No more crazy than most ideas that get aired here!

OH is now setting off to collect. He's decided he'll probably make a wooden wheel. Apparently that requires some new type of power tool
In his dreams!

Will he need to reinvent the wheel?
We bought some wheels from a country store that were for wheelbarrows so am sure you could probably get them (for cheaper than a new power tool LOL)

haemmerlin & chillington (mfrs) used to sell spare wheels. Your local stockist should be able to order one in for you but you will have to wait a while for their next stock order to come in unless you want to pay carriage.

Ooh thanks for all the replies

The wheelbarrow is a good Haemmerlin one so hopefully it will be easy to find a replacement wheel.
OH has been too busy with his new mitre saw & raised bed cover project to pay any more attention to the wheelbarrow
And I'm supposed to be completing artwork before doing any more garden projects

Deadline fast approaching! Eeeek!

Try caravan centres they usually stock a supply of Jockey wheels in various sizes.
