Hi
My Dad bought some rasberry canes about a month ago but as yet no buds, leaves or anything, they're still just bare canes.
I have no idea what variety they are but even so, should they showing some sort of life by now?
Thanks
MEW

Mine have started to shoot, they are fairly early autumn ones, I think there's still time yet if yours are late-ish ones

Ours have been slow, 40 canes planted in november, so far only 29 have any sign of life. Most of those have come through in the last week or so. I was beginning to give up hope and wonder what I'd done wrong. So I wouldn't be too disheartend just yet !

Mine have been in full leaf for ages (since about March?) and are flowering.

I just got given half a dozen rooted canes and although we are mid winter here, they are already sprouting.

Mine are covered in flowers, fruit and buzzing away with insects.
I think I'd be somewhat worried if they were dormant at this time of the year. We've just dug up our 'dormant' wisteria because we realised there was something very, very wrong with it and it was completely rotted off where it met the soil, and the trunk was the size of my thigh, so it wasn't a young one.
I'd have a gentle look see underground if I was you!

Yes it was dead.
But I found another one over the weekend at a garden centre that looked really nice and healthy. This was the only garden centre out of 5 that had any left.
Also bought a goji berry plant/tree. It should fruit in about 3 years I was told. It's about 15 or so inches tall.
It's the little things for me....................

That's a shame but I hope you will have more luck with the new one!
