Ok so I want to make my own all natural soap. I think I am going to start with the melt and molds until I get the hang of it. I want to scent it with EO's but what do I use for natural color?

I've always liked using food colouring (in small quantities), or spices like cinnamon sprinkled in give a nice, natural colour, as well as gorgeous aromas. You could probably use ground fresh leaves for green-coloured soaps too

I've heard that grated carrot is good. I'm making my first soap next week so have been doing a fair bit of web searching. Here's a few sites you may find interesting.

Hi , these are great natural colourings for soap,

Caramalised Sugar - brown
Cayene Pepper - Salmon
Cocoa Powder -= Brown
ground Coffee - tan
Paprika - peach
Plain (dark Cooking) chocolate - brown

Spinach powder - pale gree

Hope this helps, but I would just suggest you take the plunge and make your own 'natural' soap, it is nothing like melt and pour, much better in quality.

Although having said that, you can buy real organic melt and pour soap, which is a lovely creamy colour and is made with certified organic oils from the soil association.

With melt and pour you need to take a lot of care with the amounts of colours that add and also with fragrances, as too much can ruin the soap and make it useless.

PM if you wish I have loads of recipes and ideas as I make loads of soap etc etc as it my hobby and part business to! :flower:
