Brewing with bananas

Had a quick search of the forum but couldn't see anything to do with this...

Has anyone given it a go or would it end up a disaster?

Going to give the apple scrumpy a go today but was already thinking towards the next project!

Thanks

The banana taste tends to disappear with fermentation, but bananas definitely add a lot of body when used with other fruits. On the down side, they sometimes make the wine difficult to clear (but that never bothered me).

I think there's a recipe or two in CJJ Berry's First steps in Winemaking, will have a look and see if I can find my mum's ancient copy somewhere.

I made some years ago and it was nice. That is what I managed to recover after the various explosions! For some reason banana wine is very volatile so be careful where you brew it!

You have been warned....... :bom:
