I'm thinking of building a poly-greenhouse-ish

Am I mad?
I have an old gazebo frame and some plastic.
I was planning of sinking the gazebo frame as deep as possible, below the fence line of the garden so it cuts out wind take-off factor

If I tape the plastic sheeting on to the top & sides will this work? Should I plan to completely cover it or leave it a bit uncovered in slots to ventilate and let rain in?

It's more of a large cloch that a greenhouse I guess

My OH thinks he will disown me anyway so if this really won't work it's best you tell me now!!
