Need some lawnmowers as the grass is growing again on our land after all the rain.
It takes five hours to mow with the slasher on the tractor and it seems ridiculous if I can get animals to do the job for me.
Anyone in NZ know of a hardy breed that loses it's own wool so won't need shearing (being tasty to eat would be quite nice if we get a ram too)
Id get some goats but they'd nibble the bark off our pine trees I've been told and kill them.

Try looking at Wiltshires, not sure where you are in NZ but have a look here,

http://www.lifestyleblock.co.nz/vforum/ ... hp?t=11606

Failing that try Trade me.

Dorpers shed too but their feet are shocking don't go there!
When choosing wiltshires try to buy ones that are 100% shedding.

If you want more info try the above site and use the search facility, there have been quite a few threads on them

PS Goats are much more fun!

I already am a member on there bonniegirl and have just been looking lol.
I know, you are right, goats are much, much more fun but we have 2500 pine trees to think of ... I am very tempted though cos would love to have dairy goats but would be a nightmare if they killed the trees.

There is a breed called Easycare... I was under the impression they had been developed in NZ, or maybe Australia. They are just what the name says...
