Very good - I saw the ad for the ambipur thing and said much the same as the comments quoted.
I was given a freebie of the item at number 10 - I didn't do the sums that were done, but as I generally switch off the pc and the monitor at night, and don't turn the printer on unless I need to use it, I'm sure that the savings will be negligible for me.

I see no point for the last nomination, but then I switch all my computer stuff off at the wall once It's all shuut down etc. my printer thankfully does not have an eppy fit whenever I unplug it.
As for ambipur; thanks but I prefer the smell of my house which on a good day is Sophie conditioner, my washing powder and fresh air.
(on a bad day it's last night's curry with a hint of fart..... ok today is a bad day... kitchen windows are open though

Oh my god I want an iJoyRide. What a brilliant device that would be for me!!!!! Even when I get back on a real horse I could have all the right muscles toned instead of spending 5 days in agony afterwards!
I want one, I want one, I want one
toddles off to see how much they cost........
Only £399. OH!

Well it's cheaper and less mucky than a horse!

A consumerist mate (with whom I have had some reasonably serious, if drunken, arguments about intensive chicken production) proudly announced about a year ago that he bought a Tassimo coffee maker..... then realised that he should have kept shtum.
We group together and buy beans from a chap who roasts to order and make it on the top of the Rayburn with a second hand espresso pot. The grounds go in the compost.
You choose lol.

Yes I agree this is about as nasty looking as the glade plug-ins etc. Every time I see one of the adverts on tv where the 'wisp' of smoke comes out every few seconds keeping the kids entertained for hours, I just cringe!
Why do people 'pay' for chemicals to be sprayed in their home to make it smell like...........hmmmmm.......don't know. summer berries or something? What's wrong with a natural clean smell or perhaps that was asking too much?

I lost heaps and got super fit learning to ride a horse but can't see me using a machine like that instead. Would rather be on a real horse.
New Prize - Landfill Impact

Landfill is a useful prize but it is negative. Let's try positive as well. Nominate the best contribution towards landfill reduction for the year.
The prize could be called Landfill Impact or any other useful title. I would like to nominate Karen Cannard, who is active in the media and the web, for the first prize. Any seconders, or alternatives, you care to add. What would the prize be? A Bokashi bin/Green Cone/Free beer for a day.
