hi.
i have brought a new run for my ducks and chucks and after a week the lovely green grass has now turned in to a mud bath. i can't move the run as its huge.
what should i use to help, i was going to buy some straw but i thought i'd ask the experts.

I'm not an expert but I think straw would be a good idea.

Don't think you can go wrong with straw, or maybe wood chips. But if you want to keep the run in that place for a while, it might be a good idea to improve the drainage on that piece of land. How about a layer of sand? It'll be worked in by the chickens after a while anyway, so won't look as if they are playing at the beach for ever! And they'd have a better chance of a dust bath (rather than mud bath), which I believe is good for their feathers.
