I took soph into town this morning, and she really didnt want to sit in the buggy so we went on foot. my little 2 year old managed a 2.5 mile round trip with only one break in it (took her to her fave cafe for tea and a bun). I am so proud! she's really knackered now though.

Well done Soph, a well-deserved bun! Just for info, what age did she start walking?
You´ve given me hope! I´m starting to encourage Minky-Monkey-Moo to at least walk part of the way from the house to the car......it would be nice not to carry her ALL the time!
Clara x.

MrsF, Ellis also started walking 2 days before his first birthday. He was in his Auntie's house and had an audience of several assorted family members when he just got up and strolled across the living room floor as if he'd been doing it for weeks! Ruddy show-off! I was amazed, considering he hadn't bothered rolling over until he was nearly 8 months and had only been crawling for about a fortnight....
He's the same as Soph now, can't get the wee sprite anywhere near his buggy so he walks everywhere....it's a bit frustrating sometimes wandering around at toddler-pace (I usually charge around the place at a frantic pace!), but I've got used to it. He's almost 22 months and will happily walk three times further than his 5 year old cousin who is used to being ferried around in the car....(and is then very boisterous letting off steam around the house!)
And yep, it tires them out a treat, too!!

Beth walked holding fingers from 9 months, cruised from 11 months, bum shuffled from a year and walked independantly at 15 months, crawled at 16 months

However she was 2 in Dec and never uses her buggy anymore, walks everywhere, she has made up for the late start! We do a lot of walking as I don't drive.
Well done Soph

soph still isists on the buggy from time to time, so we start off walkijng an she'll end up in the buggy.... but i always ask her before leaving if she thinks she'll want the bugy. if she says no, we go without it.

I have no problem with buggies, its just we are in the middle of nowhere down a rough track so it got ditched early as it was a nusiance over hardcore track and a cattle grid!

Josh started walking at 19 months!!!! Lazy sausage! However, for the past year we've been regularly taking the dogs for a walk together and now he's doing an hour of difficult walking (hills etc) - he's 4 and loves it (doesn't like it in the rain though!)...
