GETTING OUT OF THE HABIT

HI,MY HABIT OF GOING TO SAINSBURYS EVERY SATURDAY HAS ENDED.MANY OF THOSE ITEMS I REGULARLY BOUGHT NO LONGER SEEM NEEDED.WHY BUY TOMATOES IN WINTER? WHY NOT WAIT TILL THERE IN THE VEG PLOT?.MIND YOU I WILL MISS BEING BEING AMUSED WITH OTHER PEOPLES TROLLIES...COSTING £100+.ALSO THE GAS COMPANY GET LESS MONEY THESE DAYS(ASH GREEN,FIT FOR A QUEEN).AND THESE YHYBRID HENS HAVE LAYED THROUGH THIS WINTER(LOTS OF BARTER WITH FRIENDS)....HOW COME I TOOK SO LONG TO TWIG THIS?...I,VE BEEN READING SEYMOUR FOR YEARS...HERE,S TO GETTING FURTHER AWAY FROM THAT SYSTEM)......

there's another upside to only eating fruit and veg in season is that you appreciate them SO much more - I remember as a child that you only ever had strawberries in season, and you looked forward to them greatly, along with the first "new" potatoes...........
And chicken and turkey were a luxury 50 years ago, it was a treat indulged in once or twice a year............

I do, and they tasted........ of
chicken
I grew up on a nursery, where amongst other things, we kept a few chickens - the cockerels were fattened up for the weeks running up to Christmas, and there was a big "plucking day" when a couple of my father's friends came round, the birds were swiftly dispatched, and plucked outdoors into tea chests.......flavour to last you until the following Christmas!
And thanks! - having spent nearly a month in hospital, it's great to be home, putting the world to rights again!
