Great article on downshifting in the latest Ecologist, including an interview with Tracey Smith and Nat. And guess what: under "resources", selfsufficientish is listed...

Yeah, I saw that too.
It's a really good magazine, The Ecologist, although it does make me feel a bit depressed sometimes - The scale of the environmental problems we face coupled with the greed of big business and the wilful ignorance of most of the population.
I caught up with the tampons article you mentioned before - yeuck! If I used them I would stop now (Sorry - may be TMI for you boys).

i had a quick look at the ecologist online today - is the tampon article on there? or is it in the paper copy. i really want to find a copy as i found out a friend uses them, but its not a magazine i usually read

I think it's the paper copy - I can read it online but I subscribe.
