I have an apple tree that I have grown from a pip!

It is now 5yr’s old, and six ft tall. I planted it outlast year, and it is thriving!

Can anyone tell me what I can expect of it i.e. will it ever fruit etc?

Gidday

I think apples are one fruit that don't vary too much from what they come from but being from seed could be quite a few years waiting yet.

Has it ever blossomed?

Are there other trees nearby for cross-pollination?

I'd have expected a 5 year old tree to have blossomed or fruited by now...

For most varieties they're not self-fertile so you need another apple tree (blossoming at the same time) nearby to cross-pollinate

Pruning it back quite strongly - maybe 1/4 -1/3 - at the right time of year can also force seedlings to fruit sooner. Try find a reference to back that though - i think i saw it in one of my John Seymour books but am not certain
