Okay I'm confussed for a change.

I have two pygmy goats, both have ear tags from the Holding of Birth, do I need to add a tag for my holding, if so how do I get a flock/herd number, I have a CPH number but no herd/flock number.

If I don't need to add a tag, do I still need a flock/herd number.

Help, Im very confussed.

Have spoken to local animal health they put me on to DEFRA, who were very helpful and I now have a herd/flock number.

I must admit, I'm not so sure about re-tagging myself: do you need to tag them with your own number? I know they need a movement tag when they leave the farm...

the animal is tagged at the place they were born.. that tag can then stay with them for life - same number stays with the animal, so no retagging is not necessary
