It pays to chat to your local tip manager

Here in rural NZ we don't have rubbish collection, we take it to the local refuse station. One of the guys who runs it is really friendly, I have chatted to him a lot, including about my plans to set up an eco friendly plant nursery. He was very happy that I would take plastic milk bottles to cut up and make into plant pots. So happy that last weekend he asked if I would pop to his place (he is what is classed as a neighbour here, only a few km down the road) and pick up a couple of bags of plant pots.
Here is what I picked up, the bags completely filled the back of the estate car and I think I still had a couple of bags left to open when I took this shot.

Nice one, Possum!

The guy who runs my local tip (ergh, recycling centre) is a bit of a gardener himself. He's done a brilliant job around all the containers - nice beds along the side of the property, planted up and decorated with stuff that he found in the bins...

yes I really couldn't believe how many there were, worth a couple of beers to him at least. Not shown are a whole load of peat pots, slightly damp, but nothing a couple of nights inside couldn't sort out.

Yikes, I've probably got at least that many sitting in my shed. Perhaps it's time to start a 101 uses for (or have we done that already).

How did I not find that skip before you? Was it in C'P?

Nope, Dunbar. At first i thought it was just the case, but lifting it out was too heavy, and was gobsmacked when i took the lid off and found this.

Thought, "Ok, must be something wrong with it." Nope, Sandi is already using it. Not a problem yet, and that was 3 months ago!!!!
