The west coast of the North Island was hit by a series of tornados. Seventy houses without power. $5,000,000 worth of damage. A restaurant was hit and one of the chairs from the restaurant was found three kilometres away. The weather people said that tornados love winter, and more could be on the way. Luckily, there was no loss of life.
