Energy saving light bulbs from school

My two younger children (7 and 12) came home from their respective schools today with an energy saving light bulb each. The council and the electricity board had got together after the project both schools did on saving resources and each child was given one to put into practice what they'd learnt.
Lets hope they convert some parents too!

They're 79p in my local Netto - Philips ones too. I can't imagine what possible reason anyone could have for not using them!

(apart from dimmer switches, that is)

Same price here at Lidl's - they've really come down in price in recent times.

Over here they seem really expensive to buy, not that I've bought any in a long time seeing as every so often I see stands set up in shopping centres or at fairs handing out bags with 6 or 8 free energy saving bulbs in them. My house is now lit by them and I have a bunch of spares. Not that we need spares, they last for years.

Where we live (outside Glasgow), I'm happy to say that they are now cheaper than the 'normal' bulbs. Yay! In fact, we're hard-pressed to find normal bulbs these days.
