Greetings everyone, i trust that you are all well~

Round about January, i had the Willow tree in my garden cut down to the stump :( ~Now i need something thats organic and eco friendly to kill off the roots~ Could anyone give me some great advice as to where to go to get this product~ The stump has had holes drilled into it, but the holes do not go all the way through to the bottom~

Blessings and thank you~

Gelignite?

I don't know of anything ecofriendly that will kill it. how about trying to burn it out?

Axe to the top to make a hole in it, then either leave it to get water in and rot, or pour water in it.

Or...pile topsoil over it and encourage the local ant population in.

We did that with some silver birch stumps and it took a few years for them to rot, but rot they have. The one with ants in it (they found their way there naturally) rotted and crumbled quicker then the other one.

The fee Fairy, that sounds intreasting, but because the Willow loves water, will that just make it sprout more, rather than kill it?~

ooh, don't know. I would have thought that pouring water directly into the trunk part would harm it - it usually likes to suck up water from the roots.

Go with the topsoil thing instead, and cover it with some old carpet or something to keep the light out to stopp the shoots getting any sun.
