I know a couple of Bee keepers and had some Bees squatting on my old allotment. Never kept them myself.

Anyone know any good website for beekeeping. All the ones I've found just sell books or equipment. I just want advice on how to start, what I need, etc etc
For example, this year we have a large hive of honey bees squatting in our chimney. Can I relocate them before winter when we'll need to use the fire again. And if I can, how?
Anyway, books cost money

im subscribed to an organic beekeepers list:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Organicbeekeepers/
i´ve found it very useful and informative, and have posted quite a few questions myself, that people very kindly answer... hopefully someone there will help you
ps. i get about 50 emails a day from the list, but it is very easy to unsubscribe once you´ve got the answer you need

Hi, I want to keep bees and have just been on the british beekeepers website (found it through google) , and it looks quite good to me but then I don't know anything about bees or beekeeping. I am about to try and get books from the local library. Does anyone know anything about the BBKA ..apparently they run short courses about how to get started and I wondered if anyone had done any of them and ,if so ,what are they like?

forgot to say that they have an online news letter and an article on how to get started.

If you go to
http://thorn.co.uk, suppliers, they have a list of beekeeping classes in all areas in the UK.
My local classes are run by members of the BBKA, which I joined and got the classes free.
You can go on and take proper qualifications, but I,m just doing the short course! Get me started.
