T***o and Nestle campaign

Right, that's it. I found out this week that I'm a T***o investor - a bit of a shock but my ethical pension funds turn out to include T***o shares! Then to cap it all off, I get a clubcard thing through from T***o (which I try hard to avoid) giving me 55 extra points when I buy bleedin' Nescafe. It's really annoyed me, because I know this incentive is dropping onto doormats up and down the country.

For those who don't know why this is a bad thing, take a look at this.

Since I'm presently a T***o investor - and you may be too if you haven't looked at the investment basket your pension is based on - I decided to e-mail their customer service line (customer.service@T***o.co.uk) with this observation. I've tried to couch it in language they might understand.
Regarding recent issue of clubcard vouchers;

I find myself in receipt of vouchers specifically for Nestle products. You will no doubt be aware of the existence of an international boycott on Nestle products (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nestl%C3%A9_boycott) which has been the subject of a Public Hearing before the Development and Cooperation Committee of the European Parliament.

I am very aware of the current importance of Nestle products to the T***o product range, and as a supporter of the boycott I am uncomfortable with it. T***o's support of Nestle, still to bring its policies into line with World Health Assembly Resolutions, can only play into the hands of detractors in the media which may yet impact on its share value.

Yours faithfully etc
Please folks, e-mail T***o to tell them their promotion of Nestle stinks. Frankly I'm not sure if I've gone far enough. I'm going to write to the fund managers at my pension company to ask them to justify including T***o in an ethical portfolio, so if anyone has a link to a summary page of T***o dodginess I'd be grateful. If there's much response to this thread it might be worth bringing this to the attention of some media contacts as well.

I`m e-mailing T***o as soon as I leave the Forum!
Thanks for the info about pension funds - how do you find out about your pension fund holdings? (I get a teacher`s pension)

Coincidence!
A leaflet has just fallen out of my NI mag - about a campaign for responsible investments for pension funds.
Haven`t perused it in detail yet but it looks interesting.
It`s at www.fairpensions.org.uk

Your LEA will be contracting the pension out to a fund management company, so speak to the LEA to find out who that is and ring them. They'll happily send you a glossy, although they should have done so when the pension was set up.

Still nothing from T***o!
