Storing apples

I usually store my Bramleys in the shed but there`s no room this year. Would it be all right, do you think, to store them on the greenhouse stages? Do they need dark or anything?

Anyway - - I`ve got them laid out on trays, not touching but not wrapped or anything. Would they be better wrapped in a box? :?
How long do you reckon Bramleys keep for?

This was in my FOE email today -
Autumn is the time for harvesting apples and if you pick your own before the first frosts they can be stored all winter. Wrap unbruised ones individually in newspaper and store in a cool but frost-free garage or shed. Slight insect damage on the skin is harmless.

Thanks Shirlz!
I`ll fish a few papers out of the recycling bag and head for the allotment.
