I'm hoping to be able to save some money buying soap, and also maybe give some as presents.

However I've never made soap before and wondered if any of you good people had some handy hints, web resources or tried and tested 'beginner' recipes I can use and modify with practice?

Cheers

I've cheated and bought melt and pour soap that I'll add my own bits and pieces to. That way the little uns can help too. Maybe I'll put a rubby duckie in one!

The BEST book I've seen is Soap Naturally! Short on colour pictures, long on information, tips and hints1

There is even a website - www.soapnaturally.org
